What is a Digital Shared Ownership?

A Digital Shared Ownership (DSO), represents the streaming rights shared between the music creator(s) of a song and the retail music investor(s) that buy into the shared streaming rights of the song. This creates the essence of a partnership with monetary interest as the song accumulates revenue from all paying platforms.


How do you Make Money?

There are numerous platforms in which songs are streamed. Each platform pays out differently per stream (listen). More recently, most social media platforms that allow their users to attach songs to their video content (from their platform's music library) now pay per stream (view). Whereas TikTok pays out per use of a song and not by the stream (view). Each platform pays out on a different schedule. BuyBuy Music simplifies residual payouts by collecting monies owed by each platform and distributing to all Digital Shared Owners within each 90 days.
